Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Dayword iPhone app and this website, provided by Dayword ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Dayword on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app or its content, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Use Dayword lawfully. Don't attempt to interfere with the app, extract its content in bulk for redistribution, or use it in a way that infringes anyone's rights.

Dayword stores progress and preferences on your device. New installations may require Sign in with Apple before choosing a subscription; existing local-only installations may continue without an account. When signed in, the app transmits that information to us for account sync. Analytics, subscription, and advertising-measurement services process other app data as described in our Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for device backups and for keeping access to the Apple account used to sign in.

The vocabulary, definitions, pinyin, example sentences, and audio in Dayword are provided for language-learning purposes. We work to keep them accurate, but we don't warrant that every entry is free of error, and Dayword is not a substitute for professional instruction or translation.

The app, its design, and its curated content are owned by Dayword or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Dictionary source data is used under the licences credited in the app's Acknowledgements screen.

We may update, change, or discontinue Dayword or any of its features at any time. We may also update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date on this page, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revised terms.

Dayword is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Dayword will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim relating to the app's failure to conform to a warranty is our responsibility, not Apple's.
